Missouri Casino Riverboats
Missouri doesn't have 5 star resorts like Vegas, Mississippi, or Atlantic City. The riverboats here, well, they are what they are. But as far as gambling goes, if the place is nice, has decent food, good looking waitresses and poker then that's all I need. So if I give a place 4 stars here, and I give a mega resort 4 stars in Atlantic City, don't start an uprising. I'm basing each place as if they were separate towns and each rating is for that town.
I will say that Missouri has great food, the Rams and poker, so that makes it a great state for me.
ISLE OF CAPRI BOONVILLE REVIEW: Boonville. Let's just say that Boonville is a far cry from my old stomping grounds of Newark, Philly, and Queens. But, it has my favorite casino in Missouri, based on my short trip of course. And that is the Isle of Capri. I know the Isle from their great property in Biloxi. The company has accomplished alot in its short life and they now have representation in Vegas via the purchase of the Lady Luck casino. Every time you're in any of the Capris across the country you'll feel the need to throw on a shirt with Palm Trees on it, pop in a Jimmy Buffet CD in your walkman, and start drinking Margaritas two at a time. The tropical theme is awesome, it really puts you in a great mood.
One thing I love about the Isle properties is that they are bright and lively. The Isle only has six or so poker tables in a small room. But that's enough for me. The limits were low so I didn't lose too much, the cocktail waitresses were hot and dressed even hotter and the dealers were friendly.
Go here if for some reason you're in Missouri. I first saw this casino on the Insomniac Show starring Dave Attel and it looked great and that's why I wanted to try out the Missouri casinos. It was well worth it. The people are super friendly too. Give this place a shot. The foods good to. ISLE OF CAPRI REVIEW - 4 STARS
AMERISTAR CASINO IN KANSAS CITY: The MLB Royals put this city on the map. Ok, so they didn't. I can't remember them ever being good, but the Chiefs are always a powerful offensive team in the NFL so I'll give KC that. If you want great BBQ, stop in one of the local places here. I don't remember where I ate because I was a bit tipsy, but it was great.
This place had a lot more tables than the Isle of Capri, and I believe this place was bigger. I thought the layout was great, the waitresses greater. I was turned down by 5 different ones in a span of 1 hour!!! That's a personal record!!! If you're in KC, stop here, this is the real deal, it was a lot of fun. AMERISTAR CASINO REVIEW - 4 STARS
HARRAHS KANSAS CITY: Harrahs, it's a name you know in the casino world. When in doubt, always go with names you know. Harrahs, Caesars, Isle of Capri, Ballys, Hilton, MGM, etc. Just like women, if you do good with redheads, stick with redheads. Don't go after the blondes, leave them for me. I was only in this casino for about half an hour. I didn't get to sit down and play. I watched and looked around. They had about a dozen tables. They had a great slot selection as well. I'm gonna give this place 3.5 stars because it looked good. Bash me if you want for rating somewhere I didn't play in. Actually I lost $10 in a quarter slot machine, so that should count.
