If you are just starting out, then playing a table with a "limit" is your best bet (no pun intended). You can play for hours without losing too much money. The only downside to "limit" Hold 'em is that, when you win, you don't win very much. I like to call "limit" Tables the "practice" Tables for this reason.

However, once you have honed your skills and are ready for the Big Leagues, then "no-limit" is where you want to be. Here you can use whatever knowledge you believe you gained from playing at the "limit" tables to go against other people who believe they have the answer as well.

An important note to add, if you are just beginning, be sure to invest in some books about Texas Hold 'Em. Amazon.com is a great place to start. Some poker books may be a little confusing at first (I was totally lost when I read my first book), but you will soon find out that the information that you have gained from those books will come in handy someday. Besides, if you do a lot of reading, you will probably know more about odds, strategy, watching the table, outs, bluffing, position, etc. than anyone else at the table. Just watch out for luck... it will bite you every time.
