When bluffing...and you keep gettin called...is it a better idea to fold and save money or try to buy your way out?

I think a lot depends on who you are up against. If you make a bluff at the pot and are called by someone that only bets when he has a good hand, then you are better off counting your losses before you lose too much. On the other hand, if you are playing a timid player and you get the feeling that his hand isn't that good. Then you can try to make another bet to steal the pot. However, if you do that, make sure your bet it significantly higher than the previous one. Don't just keep betting the value of the big blind and think everyone is going to fold. It all comes down to reading the person you are playing against.
When it comes to bluffing it comes down to a few simple but key things.
First is the size of your stack. You can bluff out someone with a semi good hand just because of the size of your stack. If you are on the short stack just count your blessings that you are still in the game until you pick up a monster you can limp in with.
Next is your position at the table. If you are on the button or the blinds you can steal pots regardless of your cards. This also depends on the remaining players in the hand. You can have several plays but one play is not to just call a raise. If you have rags and want to steal a pot, re-raise, and re-raise again if you must to try to "punk" everyone out.
The last thing is probably the least important in bluffing is your actual hand. You can semi bluff with a hand like Q 7 offsuit or a stone cold bluff with 2 7 offsuit. It really depends more on your stack and your position at the table.
